Silver leaf, bol and gesso over over Aliso wood in a Renaissance style. This is a great example of what makes Spanish Colonial Style its own thing because the local indigenous carpenters and artisans would take a commission to reproduce a European style from a woodcut, print or drawing and the final outcome will be a combination of his heritage and the European styles.
