These plates came to Spain by way of the Moorish domination which influenced Spanish Majolica which later influenced Mexican Talavera after the Spanish Conquest of the Americas. The Manila Galleon / Acapulco Trade Route beginning in 1585 brought back Chinese pottery which influenced Mexican Pottery…in return, Mexican pottery influenced Chinese pottery and the the globalization of pottery and ceramics became a real thing.
