Summary

The encounter of European empires with the native civilizations of the Americas and the subsequent colonization created a steady development of what came to be known as Colonial America.

Colonial art, architecture and furniture evolved in the 16th through 18th centuries from European styles introduced into the Americas. The combination of European designs, exotic American woods and the influence of native craftsmen is what makes colonial art, architecture and furniture unique.

In parts of Asia the same type of colonization took place and led to an interpretation of European styles reflecting an Asian influence.

We are constantly following this colonization of the world, looking for examples of art, architectural components and furniture to add to our large collection which can be experienced in Nogales.
